The MONUMENTO Salzburg is a trade fair for cultural heritage and the conservation of monuments that takes place at Messezentrum Salzburg once every two years. An important new milestone has been reached, since this well-established platform has now joined forces with three further renowned European fairs.
The organisers of the Florence Art and Restoration – a show better known as Salone dell’Arte e del Restauro di Firenze, and those of its other key events such as the Florence Heri-Tech, the Spanish Biennale AR&PA – held ever since 1998, and Italy’s Salone, della Valorizzazione di Napoli, the next edition of which is to take place in Naples in 2019 as an important fair for the entire Mediterranean region, have all decided to work together in close cooperation. The on-going discussions since the beginning of the year have now produced concrete results, the three partners having signed an agreement in Florence in mid-May.
Wolfgang Baumgartner, Head of Exhibitions at Messezentrum Salzburg explains: “We are very pleased to have been able to sign an agreement at the Florence Heri-Tech on behalf of the MONUMENTO Salzburg with our trade fair partners from Italy and Spain."
“We believe this cooperative arrangement is a milestone in the continued development and positioning of our trade fairs, providing an expert European platform for the conservation of monuments and cultural heritage” affirmed Dr. Emanuele Amodei of the Florence Art and Restoration Fair.
Anna Rendina of the Salone della Valorizzazione di Napoli is very optimistic about the opportunities these joint efforts will provide: “By cooperating in this way we will be able to offer our visitors and exhibitors a wide range of expert professional benefits and options for expansion.”
Enrique Saiz Martin (AR&PA) adds: “The planned establishment of a European umbrella brand shows how influential we hope this transnational project will become, since it is to be a vehicle to achieve great things in the European domain!”
Agreed pillars of cooperation in terms of timing and content
One of the pivotal elements of this close cooperation is the creation of the foundations of an international network with a powerful and concerted voice capable of representing the interests of the cultural heritage fairs at a European level. The purpose of founding an umbrella brand with joint marketing activities is to enhance expertise and commercial progress, and to raise the profile of the work of the members beyond national boundaries!
By taking on new members, an explicit goal of our efforts is expansion for the field of cultural heritage preservation within the European trade fair market.
The nomination of a representative committee and the announcement of agreed joint interests have been scheduled for November 2018!
